What’s the difference between lithium batteries and LiFePO4 batteries?

“Lithium battery” is a broad term that refers to rechargeable batteries using lithium-ion technology, including Li-ion, LiPo, and LiFePO4 batteries. LiFePO4 (lithium iron phosphate) batteries are a specific type of lithium battery. They are known for high safety and thermal stability, long cycle life, stable power output, and strong chemical stability. Compared with other lithium battery types, LiFePO4 batteries typically have slightly lower energy density but offer greater reliability and durability for long-term use.

Can a lead-acid charger be used to charge Hysincere Power LiFePO4 batteries?

We do not recommend using a lead-acid charger to charge LiFePO4 batteries. Lead-acid chargers use different charging profiles and voltage settings, which may affect battery performance and lifespan over time. For best results and long-term reliability, we recommend using a charger specifically designed to support lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries.
For optimal compatibility and safety, we also recommend using our dedicated Hysincere Power LiFePO4 battery charger.

What should you do when you receive a new battery?

When you receive your battery, it may have a low state of charge (SOC) due to transportation and storage. To ensure optimal performance, charge the battery immediately to avoid over-discharge.

Batteries with Bluetooth functionality may arrive in an off state, showing a terminal voltage between 3V and 5V, and you won't be able to connect them to your phone. This is because they are shipped powered off, similar to mobile phones, to minimize self-discharge and extend the battery's lifespan.

There are 2 ways to solve the problem: using an AC-DC lithium battery charger or an MPPT solar charge controller to charge it for 3 to 10 seconds, then the battery can be used normally.

If you plan to store the battery for a long time, charge it to a SOC of 50% and perform maintenance every three months. This will help preserve its functionality and performance.

Is it better to use one 200Ah lithium battery or two 100Ah lithium batteries?

In most cases, we recommend using a single 200Ah lithium battery rather than two 100Ah batteries connected in parallel. A single battery provides a simpler setup and more stable performance. If installation space is not a concern, both configurations can work. However, when space is limited or system simplicity is a priority, a single 200Ah battery is generally the better choice.

Can I use Hysincere Power LiFePO4 batteries as starting batteries?

No. Hysincere Power LiFePO4 batteries are engineered as deep cycle energy storage, not as engine starting or cranking batteries. They deliver steady, long-lasting power for RV house loads, marine systems, solar and off-grid applications, but they are not optimized for the very high instantaneous currents (cold cranking amps) required to start internal combustion engines.

Can I connect Hysincere Power lithium batteries in series or parallel?

Hysincere batteries support series and parallel connections for the same model.

If your goal is to increase the battery system voltage, we recommend connecting the batteries in series.

If your goal is to increase the battery system capacity, we recommend connecting the batteries in parallel.

Important Notes:

Series and parallel connections are only supported for batteries of the same brand and model. Batteries from different brands or models may have different BMS settings, which can prevent the battery system from functioning properly.

If the batteries you plan to connect have been used for significantly different durations, they must be balanced first. Ensure all batteries have the same voltage level before proceeding with the series or parallel connection.

How to Charge Hysincere Power lithium Batteries

Hysincere Lithium Batteries have different charging requirements compared to lead-acid batteries, so we recommend using a Hysincere Lithium Battery charger.​

Here are the charging options for Hysincere lithium RV batteries:

  • Lithium Battery Charger: Choose a charger with the correct voltage to safely charge the battery.​
  • Solar Panels: Always connect a solar charge controller when using solar panels to ensure safe charging.​
  • Alternator/Generator:
    DC Output: If your alternator or generator provides DC output, you'll need a DC-to-DC charger to connect the battery.​
    AC Output: If it provides AC output, use a compatible battery charger as specified in the product manual to safely connect the battery and generator.

Is it normal for the battery to get warm during use?

A slight temperature increase during high-current charging or discharging is normal. If the battery becomes excessively hot (over 45°C), emits an odor, or begins to swell, discontinue use immediately and contact our support team at Email: support@hysincerepower.com with a video of the issue for priority handling.

Can Hysincere Power lithium batteries be paired with inverters?

​Yes, Hysincere Lithium Batteries can be paired with inverters to convert the DC power stored in the battery into AC power, which is necessary for operating most household appliances.

Hysincere pure sine wave inverters are particularly beneficial for powering devices such as air conditioners, microwaves, or televisions. It’s crucial to select an inverter that is compatible with deep cycle lithium batteries to ensure optimal performance.

Combining lithium batteries with a suitable inverter guarantees a reliable power supply for your appliances during your travels.

Why is my LiFePO4 battery showing 0V?

If your LiFePO4 battery displays 0V, it may have entered a low-voltage protection state. Please use a dedicated LiFePO4 charger with BMS activation function to reactivate and charge the battery.

Why is my LiFePO4 battery not showing as fully charged?

Please ensure you are using a dedicated LiFePO4 battery charger. After reaching full charge, the battery voltage may naturally drop by about 1V due to its chemical characteristics. This is normal behavior and does not mean the battery is defective.

The battery cuts off immediately after connecting my device. Is it defective?

This is usually caused by the device’s high startup current triggering the battery’s BMS overcurrent protection and does not indicate a defective battery. To confirm compatibility, please send your device's power parameters to our support team at Email: support@hysincerepower.com

The battery runtime is much shorter than expected. Is the capacity overstated?

Battery runtime depends on load power, discharge current, and ambient temperature. High-power devices or low temperatures can reduce runtime. Please send your device’s power requirements to support@hysincerepower.com, and we will help evaluate compatibility and provide optimization suggestions.
